In 2004, approximately 6 children have been adopted by U.S. citizens from Panama. Children available for adoption include boys and girls, infants, toddlers, and children with special needs. No international relative adoptions are permitted, and it is not permitted for siblings to be separated. These children reside in orphanages.

Singles accepted: Yes, women age 30 and older
Other: Same-gender couples are not permitted to adopt. Maximum age for men is 45, for women 40; slightly higher for adopting an older child. Required documents include psychological evaluation.
